On Sunday night, Jim Parsons took home his third Emmy award for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper in the hit CBS sitcom, "The Big Bang Theory." At the red carpet, the actor provided some details about the upcoming "The Big Bang Theory" Season 7.

In an interview with TVLine, Jim Parsons said, "I do end up telling people, colleagues of Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) ... Sheldon tells them, because he thinks it's a good thing to tell them, that they've got a good relationship and a physical one and that one time he spanked her ... which he did."

"And I think that his willing to admit that explains how he felt about that. It needed to happen. It wasn't pleasurable. This hurts me more than it hurts you."

The actor thought that Amy enjoyed the spanking.

"The Big Bang Theory" returns on Thursday on CBS, with two premiere episodes: "The Hofstadter Insufficiency" and "The Deception Verification."

The previous season ended on two developments: Leonard (Johnny Galecki) going to the North Sea for Stephen Hawking's expedition and Raj talking in front of women, without needing a sip of alcohol.

The premiere episodes of the new season of "The Big Bang Theory" will show close bonding between Sheldon and Penny (Kaley Cuoco). These two will be sharing intimate secrets. However, Sheldon and Penny's close bonding time will end once Leonard comes back from the North Sea, which is expected to make Sheldon grumpy. Also, Amy and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) are hitting the road, together for some girls' time-out.

"Sheldon and Penny share intimate secrets while Leonard is away at sea, later, Sheldon's feelings are crushed when Leonard returns. Meanwhile, Raj gets consoled about his ex-girlfriend and Wolowitz's relationship with his mother causes an unusual threat to his masculinity," according to the synopsis released by CBS for the hour-long premiere episode of "The Big Bang Theory."
