The episode 21 of “The Big Bang Theory” Season 8 is titled “The Communication Deterioration.” The episode will see Penny (Kaley Cuoco) unable to decide whether to continue with her pharmaceutical sales job or to give her acting career another shot. She will go to Sheldon to discuss her acting career.

The current season opened with Penny taking up a job at Bernadette’s (Melissa Rauch) pharmaceutical company as a sales rep. and putting her not-so-happening acting career on the backburner. Unlike her acting career, Penny is quite successful at her sales job. The last episode, “The Fortification Implementation,” saw Penny getting an offer from Kevin Smith to audition for his “Clerk 3” film. The audition offer triggered an argument between Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny, as the former was not okay with his fiancee going for an audition. According to him, he wanted to protect her after having seen her disappointments at a number of auditions. However, when Leonard found out that Penny is making more money than him, he said okay to her resuming her acting career.

According to the synopsis of episode 21, “Penny is torn between auditioning for a movie or keeping her successful pharmaceutical sales job.” The sneak peek clip shows Penny visiting Sheldon to discuss her acting career. He, however, does not seem interested in discussing that. The spoilers leaked online reveal that Penny will go for the audition and get “catty” with the other actresses who have come for the audition. She, however, will leave her audition and will be seen thanking Bernadette for giving her an opportunity to work at her company, according to the spoilers.

Meanwhile, the other storyline of the episode is about Raj (Kunal Nayyar) getting an opportunity to “create a message in case a NASA mission discovers alien life.” He initially takes the help of Leonard only, as he fears that involving Sheldon and Howard (Simon Helberg) means they taking over the project and bossing them around. In another sneak peek, Raj and Leonard appear clueless about how to start. The spoilers reveal that Raj and Leonard end up working with Howard and Sheldon to create the message.
