Sheldon kissing Amy was of one of the highlights of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 7. It was a huge development in Shamy's [Sheldon + Amy] relationship. The physical intimacy, however, did not become a regular feature of this relationship. In the season finale, Sheldon was also appalled by Amy's suggestion that he move in with her, as the newly engaged Leonard and Penny were planning to move in, together, without Sheldon. The latest spoiler report indicates that Shamy's relationship is unlikely to take a huge leap in the upcoming Season 8 of "The Big Bang Theory."

TV Line is reporting that the writers have no plans to "accelerate" Sheldon and Amy's physical relationship. Steve Molaro, showrunner of the show, said to TV Line that they are always moving Shamy's relationship forward in "baby steps" and that they have not set any plan in place to push their relationship to the next level.

"They're on the same trajectory that they've been on since they met, and that is she is continuing to drag him along into this relationship, whether he wants to admit that he likes it or or not. He's come a long way," Molaro said to TV Line.

He also said that Amy has got Sheldon to a place where they "hold hands and they kiss and they go on regular dates. While it may not seem like a lot, it's a colossal amount for him."

Meanwhile, the episode 1 of Season 8 will see Amy and Leonard taking an unexpected road trip to Arizona to bring Sheldon back to Pasadena. The Season 7 finale saw Sheldon deciding to get on a train and get away from the changes that were taking place around him and in his life.

As previously reported, Sheldon will get robbed in the premiere episode of the new episode. This will force him to step out of a railway station for the first time since he got on a train. "The Big Bang Theory" returns with two new episodes of Season 8 on Monday, Sept. 22. The episode 1 of the new season is titled "The Locomotion Interruption."
