"The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 premiered on Monday, with an episode called "The Locomotion Interruption." The episode 2, "The Junior Professor Solution," too aired on the same day. The episode 1 opened with Sheldon in Kingman, Arizona. He was not wearing his pants, as he got robbed, and later from the police station, he called up Leonard. Leonard and Amy went to pick him up and Sheldon admitted to Leonard that he didn't want Amy to see him as a failure. Sheldon returned to Pasadena.

Also in Episode 1, Penny went to Bernadette's company for a job interview and got it because she bonded with the man interviewing her over their common fear -- Bernadette. And, Howard was feeling that he was getting replaced as a son by Stuart. Stuart and Mrs Wolowitz's relationship was troubling Howard and as Stuart had no other place to go, he was not moving out.

The episode 2 saw the return of the HR woman Ms Davis. She told Sheldon that he would be able to change the topic of his research if he accepts the position of junior professor and teaches graduate students. Sheldon was reluctant but when he agreed to teach, no student turned up to take the class because the students thought he was obnoxious. Howard offered to join his class because he wants to do a doctorate. He was able to answer all of Sheldon's questions. Sheldon was Sheldon like with Howard, and as Leonard explained to Raj that Sheldon fears that someone can be more smarter than him. In the class, Howard had his perfect revenge when his little spit-ball landed in Sheldon's mouth.

Also in Episode 2, Amy was having the best time of her life, being the centre of attention, as Bernadette and Penny were trying to avoid each other. Bernadette wanted Penny to be well prepared before she joins the new job and wanted her to go through all the study material that was given to her. Penny felt that there was still time before she started working. This caused a little friction between the two and Amy tried to take advantage of the situation, playing her two friends against each other. However, Amy's joy of being at the centre of attentin did not last for long. Penny and Bernadette realised their mistakes and aplogised to each other.
