“Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik isn’t a fan of Ariana Grande. The 38-year-old former child actress has a problem with the 21-year-old starlet’s sexy billboard, saying she doesn’t know who Ariana is but she doesn’t like what she sees.

In a blog post on Kveller.com, Mayim took issue with Ariana’s giant billboard advertising her album.

“…I will go ahead and admit I have no idea who she is or what she does,” Mayim wrote. “Based on the billboard, she sells lingerie. Or stiletto heels. Or plastic surgery because every woman over 22 wishes she has that body, I’m sure.

“Why is she in her underwear on this billboard though? And if she has a talent (is she a singer?), then why does she have to sell herself in lingerie? I mean, I know that society is patriarchal and women are expected to be sexy and sexually available no matter what we do in society, but I guess now I need to explain that to my sons?”

Mayim, who plays Dr Amy Farrah Fowler on the hit U.S. sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” doesn’t just have a problem with Ariana. She also bashed sexually-charged billboards, including ads for the TV show “Masters of Sex” and Levi’s jeans.

“Am I a crochety old lady? I guess so. But I just don’t understand why this is what ads need to look like. What good does it do for humanity or society? Why do I have to be OK with young women literally in lingerie on gigantic billboards? If I want to see women in lingerie, I can walk through any mall with a Victoria’s Secret.”

Mayim’s stance of using sex to sell is shared by many other parents and consumers. It has been a debate that has got people taking sides since ads became a norm in marketing. What has got others talking, however, is how the real life neuroscientist attacked Ariana’s fame, or the non-existence of it.

Maybe it was an inadvertent move, but Ariana would certainly not be happy to know that she isn’t as famous as she hopes to be. If Mayim, who is already in show business herself, doesn’t know who Ariana is, then she hasn’t reached Mariah Carey level of fame yet.

This couldn’t be good for her. After all, she is said to be touted as a young Mariah.

Meanwhile, reports of her diva behaviour aren’t likely to die down anytime soon. Although she has denied numerous times that she has acted less-than-stellar to the press and her fans, the rumours keep piling up.

E! News presenter Giuliana Rancic confirmed that Ariana was bit of a diva when she interviewed her at the 2014 AMAs.

“I remember, I think it was at the AMAs … little Ariana comes over, I feel like bing, elbow in my side, I’m like, ‘what’s going on?’ and they pushed me to the other side,” Giuliana recalled the singer elbowing her to move.

“I felt like a bit of, you know, it was like ‘you either get on the other side or we don’t do an interview,’ and I just felt like it’s one thing if it’s Mariah, I’ll get on any side, I’ll bend down, I’ll climb a ladder, whatever it takes to get Mariah to do an interview. But when you’re new on the block, when you’re trying to earn your stripes, you’re young, you just gotta do what you gotta do. Try to get a great reputation, try to go overboard to please people.”

Ariana was also called a diva during a press photo shoot in Australia, and by a father of meet-and-greet winners who were apparently given the cold treatment by the pint-sized songstress.
