Big Brother Australia 2012: First Live Eviction Gets 1.25M Viewers
Big Brother Australia 2012 has sent home its first evictee of the season, and the live elimination was seen by 1.25 million viewers Sunday night.
Thirteen housemates were left to compete in the reality based program. The most popular personality is set to win fabulous prizes in a couple of months. On top of that, he or she gets a chance to become a hot Aussie celebrity. The trick for the contenders is to stay close to the voters' hearts.
On the first eight seasons of Big Brother, viewers were asked to vote for the housemate that they liked the least in the social lab rat series. However, this time around, the viewers were asked to vote for their favorites instead.
Up for elimination on Big Brother's first Live Eviction Show 2012 were: Charne, a Gold Coast cabaret performer; Estelle, a law student; and Layla, a beautician in Queensland.
Charne White proved to have the least connection with the show's audience, as she drew the least number of votes.
Layla gathered 49 per cent of the 'support' votes, while Estele got 27 per cent.
White, who revealed she suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), said her two weeks in the house was challenging.
"It was extremely hard not having my comfort things around me... and the way I am with my OCD, it was extraordinarily hard...I think two weeks is enough," Charne told host Sonia Kruger during the live show.
Big Brother has done pretty well in staying within the 'million' mark, but its figures are slowly decreasing. It is up to the show runners to bring out the most interesting facades of the housemates' personalities.
The top three most watched programs Sunday night were: HOWZAT! Kerry Packer's War Part 2 (Nine-2.09 million), 60 Minutes (Nine-1.66 million), and Seven News (Seven-1.53 million).
