“Big Brother Australia” second nomination night saw five housemates up for eviction. Katie, Cat, Dion, Travis and Priya felt the wrath of their fellow housemates for apparently being obnoxious, spoilt, emotional and deceitful, as well as for talking about Crossfit all the time.

After the first eviction night on Tuesday, which saw the eviction of Gemma, the housemates became free of their partners. From then on they are playing as individuals and not as pairs anymore. This also meant that they would nominate and be nominated as individual persons.

Gemma’s Exit

The aftermath of the fiery redhead’s eviction from the house saw a few tears and loud cheers from the housemate. Gemma’s nemesis in the house Travis did a very happy dance with Sandra right after the housemates sent her off at the door. Her partner Jake also quickly explained to his fellow housemates where Gemma had gone wrong.

Priya, the only one who literally stood behind Gemma’s back when it came down between Gemma and Jake, admitted to Big Brother that she felt terrible that Gemma learnt how she was disliked by the housemates. However, she also noted that the 6’6” beauty had it coming since she made herself so unlikeable in the house.

“She has always been the girl who has never been chosen for anything in life, so I wanted to choose and stand behind her just so she doesn’t feel leaving completely left alone,” Priya explained why she opted to support Gemma despite it being an unpopular choice.

Gemma’s parting words for her housemates, recorded in the Diary Room in case she got evicted, were full of emotions. She got emotional when she expressed her gratitude to Jake for picking her as her partner. For Jake, however, it was a different emotion.

“I wouldn’t go as far to say that I hate you, I said I don’t like you,” she said to Travis.

Travis didn’t seem to be affected by Gemma’s strong words for him, though. While Gemma was talking about how he refused to listen to others while they were talking, he even stood up and tried to be funny as he mimicked a monkey. He also tried to cut short the conversation about Gemma, urging the housemate to celebrate in the backyard instead.

Gemma then admitted that the issues that she raised were just part of her strategy to get them thinking and moving, telling them that she felt she’s the only one in the house who was really thinking.

“Bulls---! The thing is that was her natural self. There’s no game there, that was just a defence mechanism,” Sam said, not believing for a moment Gemma’s claim.

The Game-Changing Soft Drink Cans

It all started with two soft drink cans. Katie and Lisa had been hoarding the drinks in Katie’s luggage, but Lawson and Travis discovered their stash, and promptly took the cans and shared them with the other housemates.

When Katie found out what’s missing in her suitcase, she quickly interrogated Travis, who denied her accusation. She claimed she couldn’t trust anyone in the house, not with the cash she got from Big Brother in the first week still with her.

She worked it out with Lawson a little later, but both admitted to others that they don’t trust each other. Katie’s confidant was Lisa, who agreed with her about Lawson, while Lawson opened up to Cat about how Katie couldn’t see how hoarding supplies was wrong.

Later, Lisa and Cat appeared to be more affected about the issue and almost came to blows about it. The housemates then all got involved, and decided to end the super huge soft drink issue with a group hug.

It’s not over yet, though. This has so affected some of the housemates that they would be giving this reason during nomination.

Nomination

Lawson, being the Head of House this week, was given a nomination super power. He had 12 points to nominate, but he could spend one point for each name that he wanted to see on the nomination board. He spent five points by asking to see where his own name, as well as Sam, Katie, Travis and Cat’s names, was placed on the board.

Dion was nominated for his incessant talk about Crossfit, while the general consensus of people who nominated Travis was that the 24-year-old Melbournite is obnoxious and loud. Jake, according to Ryan, is melodramatic, while Sam, according to Travis and Aisha, is “constantly farting” or joking about farts.

Priya’s $10,000 from the first week came back to haunt her. She and Katie were immune from being nominated last week, but now that they’re not untouchable anymore, some housemates poured in their resentment by nominating her.

Katie, on the other hand, was called a Queen Bee who created a hostile environment in the house. Cat was the opposite; she was apparently non-confrontational but emotional.

Here’s the nomination tally:

David – Dion (3), Priya (2)

Sandra – Travis (3), Skye (2)

Sam – Dion (1), Travis (4)

Ryan – Cat (3), Jake (2)
