Big Brother is coming on Monday, and the house is ready. But are the housemates prepared for the “big twist” that the Nine Network has been teasing viewers for months. So what exactly is that massive twist that the channel thinks we should all get excited about?

No one knows for sure, but basing on the ads that Nine has released so far, it has something to do with an invisible wall that “will divide everyone.”

Perhaps another gimmick where there are actually two houses that separate the housemates? They’ve done that during the 3rd season, so it’s unlikely that they would do that again. And hopefully, they won’t because while Big Brother 3 had had the highest rating average so far, the concept of having two houses wasn’t always as exciting as some viewers hoped.

But again, it looks like that our guess isn’t far off.

“It’s going to be a bit of ‘them’ and ‘us,’ and a bit of camaraderie among the housemates,” Executive Producer Alex Mavroidakis has been quoted by The West Australian as saying. “This twist doesn’t just affect their everyday life – it makes nominations completely different and more relevant than ever before, and it makes the way they are evicted from the house completely different.

“It will play out through the opening weeks of the show and its reverberations will continue throughout the rest of the series.”

Mr Mavroidakis also said that this coming season has the most diverse and strongest cast they’ve ever had.

“We’ve got the mum, we’ve got the war hero. We’ve got teachers and firemen. We’ve gor real ethnic diversity and diversity of personalities.

“It’s going to be a real melting pot situation because we’ve got some very prickly characters in there along with some funny characters,” he continued. “When you put them together and lock them away from the outside world, then the results should be fantastic.”

The twist is expected to be revealed at 7:00 pm, Monday, July 29, on Nine.
