‘Big Brother Australia’ Evicts Jake; Lawson and Cat Regret Time in the Sanctuary [VIDEO]
“Big Brother Australia” evicted another housemate on Monday. Jake unfortunately and perhaps surprisingly became the fourth evictee of the season. Also, Cat has regretted inviting Lawson in the sanctuary. Was it because she felt guilty that she’s been pining for an attached guy?
Cat and Lawson
As the Head of House, Cat was allowed the use of the sanctuary for a night with another housemate of her choice. She chose Lawson, to the surprise of no one.
Some housemates thought she would pick Skye, but it was still expected that the 31-year-old divorcee would pick the 23-year-old magician. After all, she has been open about her feelings for him, which he seemed to reciprocate. The problem is that Lawson has a girlfriend outside the house.
In the sanctuary, Cat and Lawson became closer than ever. And when it’s time for bed, Cat invited him to sleep next to her in bed. He was supposed to sleep on the couch, but did not hesitate when she asked him. That’s when their controversial relationship intensified.
The two covered themselves with the doona and basically made some kissing sounds. As they were concealed, it was difficult to ascertain whether or not they actually liplocked, but it was just as difficult not to ignore the sound of lips landing on a similar surface.
It was the same with last year’s housemates Tully and Drew, whose controversial kissing under the doona became a national topic. Tully, who had a girlfriend outside the house, was publicly dumped by Tahlia Farrant on Twitter moments after the scene aired.

“In hindsight, I made the wrong decision,” Lawson admitted to Big Brother in the diary room about saying yes to Cat in the sanctuary. “But there’s nothing I can do about it now. All I can do is move on and look forward.”
Cat, on the other hand, confessed that she had been selfish in choosing Lawson.
“I just wanted to hang out with him, but I almost chose to forget that he has a girlfriend on the outside, and I’ve realised that’s really, really selfish because there’s somebody that could get their feelings hurt,” she said in confidence to BB. “And I’ve just realised I don’t want to be that person to do that.”
Later on, Lawson opened up about his girlfriend to Ryan. According to him, they broke up a week before he was about to go in lockdown, but they got back together the next day.
The Housemates’ Reactions
Lawson’s allies Sam and Aisha were quick to defend him during casual conversations about the non-couple. Aisha felt sorry for Lawson’s girlfriend, but she didn’t think that he was cheating on her with Cat. Sam, like Aisha, thought that Lawson wasn’t at fault, but Cat wasn’t so innocent as it was common knowledge in the house that she’s in love with Lawson.
When Jason told Cat and Lawson that the housemates have a unanimous opinion about their situation, Cat cried with their assessment of her, but said she agreed with them. Jason was adamant that they weren’t entirely blaming Cat, though, as Lawson was also to be blamed by not saying no to her.
“What is wrong with me? I can’t hang out with you anymore,” she told Lawson, who remained quiet.
Hotel Guests and Staff
For the week’s challenge, the housemates were divided into two groups, the hotel guests and the staff. Head of House Cat chose her fellow eviction nominees – Aisha, Skye, David, Jake, Lisa and Travis – to become guests, while the rest – Lawson, Sandra, Leo, Ryan, Sam, Jason and Priya – became the staff.
Reminiscent of last year’s halfway house, the staff’s quarters look just as undesirable. The staff must also wait on the guests hand and foot, and should not interact with them in any way other than in a professional manner.
The guests are taking advantage of their situation since they really can’t do anything about it. They are not to lift a finger to help with the house work, and must leave everything to the staff. The staff will be rewarded with their service, though, or at least just one of them. The staff member who displays impeccable hospitality to the guests will be awarded the Legendary Services Award, and will receive $3,000 in cash courtesy of AppliancesOnline.com.au.
The award is a secret, and the guests must never find out about it. Otherwise, it would be revoked.
With huge cash incentive on the line, Ryan and Sam have levelled up their game, providing the guests flawless service. And in case one of them wins the Legendary Services Award, the two decided to split up the cash between them.
The Evicted and the Saved: Jake and Skye
The double eviction of the week has begun, and Jake was the first casualty. As promised, one housemate would be going home first before the second one would be announced on Tuesday.
Jake was the unlucky housemate to leave the house after getting just 7 per cent of public votes. The resident rapper has perhaps one of the most memorable exits in the BB history. He imparted some words of wisdom in rhymes and verses with a short rap.
Jake’s sometime pash partner Skye has the opposite of his luck, though. For the second time, Skye has been saved by the public. Earning the most votes of 27 per cent, she was announced safe early on. She doesn’t have to worry about the next eviction anymore. That leaves Aisha, Cat, David, Lisa and Travis still in danger of eviction on Tuesday.
Skye’s save proved that she is the most popular nominee. And perhaps it also proved that she’s the reason why she and Lisa had been saved during the first eviction week.
Jakes Post-Eviction Interview with Sonia Kruger
He did not just go out from the Big Brother house with a bang, he also entered the live stage with loud crash. The 25-year-old student couldn’t contain his energy when he greeted the audience in the studio.
“I like being a weasel!” Jake exclaimed after watching Aisha call him that behind his back in the video.
About the love triangle he’s involved in with Lisa and Skye, Jake was pressured by the audience to choose between the girls.
“Maybe I’m gonna go for the older woman this time,” he said, referring to the 29-year-old Lisa.
Jake also received a $5,000 voucher from AppliancesOnline.com.au, just like the evictees before him.
On Tuesday, another housemate will leave the house.
