“Big Brother Australia” host Sonia Kruger has an explanation why former intruder Justynn Harcourt wasn’t invited to the show’s finale on Wednesday night. Until now, viewers are clueless as to why the 33-year-old lumberjack/actor has been left out. The TV presenter has a simple answer:

“All of the housemates will be represented onstage except for Justynn who was never an official housemate. But he’s there in the packages,” she told TV Tonight.

All the evicted housemates are already rehearsing for their big number for the show after receiving an official invitation from the producers to come back to Gold Coast. But Justynn, who has been in the house for a less than two weeks, has effectively been snubbed by the producers.

According to him, he was sent a letter specifically telling him that his presence is not required in the show.

Officially not invited to the Big Bro finale.. Poor effort considering I never auditioned! Yes I was asked to be the bearded lumberjack..!

That left him and the viewers confused. Everyone was asked to come back, but why leave out one?

And when he made a heartfelt plea to the show to reconsider their decision, he his letter was simply snubbed. “I’m just wondering if there is any chance I could come to the finale?” he wrote an email to Lisa, the Big Brother Housemate Manager. (Read his letter on Leesa Little’s blog.)

“I realise I was only every (sic) an intruder but I would still like to be there and feel like I have bee a good sport and still a good ambassador for Big Brother outside of the house.

“I understand if you can not make the decision or possibly tell me why so if you could maybe get Alex [Mavroidakis, executive producer] to massage me or call me it would be greatly appreciated.”

But he never received a reply from Lisa or from Alex or from anyone else in the show. Fans of the series have been tweeting Alex for an answer, but still no response whatsoever from him. Some former housemates who have never met him inside the house have rallied behind him, most notably Rohan, who is thought to have started the Twitter hashtag #bringbackjustynn.

IF JUSTYNN COULD BE ALLOWED TO COME BACK FOR THE #BBAU FINALE THAT WOULD BE GREAT & FAIR... #bringbackjustynn — Rohan Mirchandaney (@RohanBBAU) November 2, 2013

One would think that the show would give a housemate/intruder who has trended on social media a few times during his brief stay in the house the courtesy of a reply. So it’s baffling why the show completely ignored him. With BB’s non-action, the producers showed him, as well as everyone who rallied for him, that he didn’t even warrant a simple email.

But during Sonia’s interview with tvtonight.com.au on Tuesday, she has at long last provided an answer. Still unsatisfying, but at least people got an answer.

If it’s that simple an answer, why did the show refused to give it to Justynn?

As for never becoming an official housemate, it still can’t be denied that his short time in the house has been remarkable. He has effectively shaken the social dynamics of the group, and even getting reactions from the most agreeable housemates.

His contribution to the house, however arguably small, cannot be ignored. And, if truth be told, he is even more memorable than some of the evicted housemates. So while he has never surpassed the title of being an intruder, he was still a part of the show.

Why is it so hard for Big Brother to give him one precious invite?

Meanwhile, Sonia will be entering the house during the final episode to “surprise” Tim, Tahan, and Jade, the remaining housemates who are vying for the $250,000 grand prize.

“I will surprise them at some point in the house,” she said. “(In 2012) I did for the winner, but it’s not like last year.”

“Big Brother Australia” finale will air at 7:30pm AEDST.
