Big Brother Australia's former housemate Josh Moore took time to express his gratitude to the fans who have been supportive of him and his family following his brother's death.

Meanwhile on Twitter, fans shout out love for Moore as the audience missed him on Big Brother Australia over the weekend.

In his closure interview at Dreamworld, Moore graciously opened his heart to fans. The decision to quit Big Brother was a no-brainer, he said. But he regrets that he never saw his brother's reaction to the news that he made it as a Big Brother 2012 housemate.

"I had to keep it on the down low, so Mum and Dad told him while I was in lockdown so I never really got to see the initial pride he would have had in his eyes which is a bit of a bummer. He would have hated the fact I was coming out because of him but I had to be with the family," Moore said.

As for the Big Brother experience, Moore had only positive things to say.

"It was just a good thing to do as a test of character. It's strengthened my character and more so coming out now."

Josh and his parents thanked the supportive Australians in their time of grief.

"People have been so compassionate, it just restores your faith in mankind again," said Josh's father, Terry.

"(A)ll the comments, the people in the streets who have stopped us to say 'we're just so sorry for your loss.' That's just nice and such a support for us as a family," said Mrs Moore.

Josh managed his emotions like a strong gentleman in the live interview with Big Brother host Sonia Kruger. Some fans who saw the interview expressed their reactions on Twitter.
