‘Big Brother Australia’ Past Favourites Chrissie Swan, Regina Bird and Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald Returning for Grand Finale – Report
“Big Brother Australia” season 3 favourites Chrissie Swan and Regina Bird, as well as season 4 housemate Ryan Fitzgerald, are reportedly returning for the 2014 grand finale. Past winners Tim Dormer and Ben Norris are also expected to appear on Wednesday night.
Following Priya, Penny and Lina’s exit on Tuesday, housemates Skye, Travis and Ryan have all been left in the house for a chance to win the grand prize at the finale. One of the final 3 will be crowned the 2014 winner and will take home $200,000.

They won’t be the only Big Brother stars to be welcomed at the grand event, though. Season 3 winner Regina Bird and runner-up Chrissie Swan are also making an appearance on the Channel 9 show. According to News Corp Australia, they will be part of the reunion of the show’s former stars, which will include Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald, as well as Tim and Ben, who are the winners of the 2013 and 2012 series respectively.
Chrissie, Regina and Ryan entered the house while the show was still broadcast on Network Ten. It was just in 2012 when the show was revived for Nine Network.
Regina made news earlier this year when she opened up about her fate following her Big Brother win. After walking away with the $250,000 prize money 11 years ago, she is now left without a cent of the money. According to her during an interview with “A Current Affair” in June, she spent her money paying off her ex-husband’s $100,000 mortgage, losing $40,000 to a conman and spending $20,000 in advance for rent in a Sydney unit for just two months. She was unemployed during the interview, and has been struggling with retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative eye disease.
Chrissie, on the other hand, was just dumped from Melbourne’s Mix FM breakfast show, which she co-hosted for three years. She told news.com.au that she was shocked about her firing, saying it wasn’t her choice to leave her job.
Fitzy, who finished fourth place in season 4, currently hosts the Sydney breakfast show on Nova 96.9 with Michael “Wippa” Wipfli.
According to circulating reports, the show’s future is still undecided. Nine may or may not air another season for 2015, or they would let the reality show rest for a while then have it come back after a year of hiatus. That way, they wouldn’t have to let go of the franchise.
