"Big Brother Australia’ Recap: Meet The Latecomers!
The twists in “Big Brother Australia” never end. After exposing Drade’s (Drew and Jade) faux marriage, BB shocked his guests even more by bringing in three more housemates at the price of two.
But first, there were tears galore. Poor Ben couldn’t help but feel he was left out of the group after he learned that Drew and Jade weren’t really married. Out of the 12 housemates, the only believers of the fake marriage were him and Matthew, so Ben felt that he wasn’t in on the secret.
For Matthew, well, bless him. He didn’t want to cast doubt about others, but he didn’t take the revelation as hard as Ben.
“I’m not a follower,” the ex-infantry soldier said. “If I believe in something I stay with that.”
Unfortunately for Drade, Matthew’s belief in them wasn’t enough to save them from automatic nomination. As agreed before the charade started, the fake couple would have to convince everyone that they’re really married to save them from the first eviction nomination. If even one housemate doubted their relationship, they would be automatically nominated.
And so all their lovey dovey acts were all for naught in the end.
But the good news is that Jade is suddenly single! Could there be a JadEd (Jade and Ed) romance in lurking now that the 22-year-old model from Ballina has taken off her $15,000 ring from her finger? Jade has friend-zoned Drew already, and Drew seemed to have found bromance with fellow university student Tim, so perhaps his “ex-wife” would also find a new romance with someone else.
But wait! Big Brother wasn’t through yet with the surprises. After outing one twist, the faceless voice introduced another one (or two, or three!). Just when the housemates have cosied up with one another, Big Brother has thrown three more guests into the mix. Talk of nominations for elimination has been discarded for now.
Meet Rohan, a 23-year-old theatre student from Melbourne. A self-confessed prankster, Rohan said his sense of humour often gets him into trouble. He’s got a girlfriend, but, as he said it himself, he can function without being into a relationship.
Rohan was introduced first to Ben, who was tasked to introduce him to the rest of the housemates. The latecomer stays in the Safe house.
Then there are sisters and best friends from Perth, Katie and Lucy. The saccharine blondes in short pink dresses and high heels may look like twins, but they’re a year apart from each other at 21 and 22, respectively. Only one of them (Lucy) is single, though.
As BB has instructed, they are playing the game as one housemate. They shouldn’t be more than three metres apart at any time. They both stay in the Safe house as well.
“I thought it was Christmas time,” Caleb said of the double vision in pink. “This is like a dream I’ve had before.”
But while Caleb was all smiles with the addition, his fellow housemates in the Halfway house didn’t look as pleased. The girls especially – Mikkayla, Tahan, and Tully – appeared shocked.
“What did we do to deserve this?” the social media strategist lamented.
