‘Big Brother Australia’ Season 11 Recap: 4 New Housemates Enter the House [VIDEO]
“Big Brother Australia” added four more housemates in the house on Tuesday night. The Nine Network reality show now has a Paralympic swimmer, a magician, a midwife and a Kiwi.
First up was Sam, a 26-year-old Paralympian whose right leg was amputated when he was just five. He had two won gold medals at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Paralympics for Australia. Unlike the housemates introduced on Monday, Sam’s partner was chosen for him by Big Brother himself. It’s a good match, of course, since Sam wasn’t given choice anymore.
His partner in the house is 31-year-old Cat, a midwife from Melbourne who hates football. She had been divorced and still looking for love.
22-year-old Aisha is originally from New Zealand, but now living in Sydney. A self-professed “one of the boys” kind of girl, she says girls often hate her because they think she’s a flirt. She’s paired with 23-year-old Lawson, a magician who was able to render presenter Sonia Kruger speechless with his jest.
On Monday night, Heads of House Priya and Katie were given their second Power Play choice. They were presented with $20,000 in cold cash, and they may take all of the money themselves, but they would be leaving the whole house with nothing but meal replacement shakes for food for a week.
Priya was solid in her decision to take $10,000 each, only claiming to Katie that she was having second thoughts. Katie had been indecisive from the start, but in the end, Priya was able to convince her partner to be selfish and just take the cash.
It’s unlikely that their fellow housemates would react favourably, seeing that many of them have declared their love for food.
There hadn’t been any major conflict yet as it was only the second day. However, there had been a brief crying when Skye got offended with how Gemma described her. The 6’6” redhead told the blonde barista that she’s “deep as a paddle pool,” which meant that she looks shallow.
Gemma admitted that it was mean of her to say that, but Skye said it was her own fault for letting it get to her. It was a diplomatic non-fight, really.
