“Big Brother Australia” lost three housemates and left the other three vying for the crown. On Tuesday, ex-intruders Lina and Penny, as well as original housemate Priya, got the boot, leaving Skye, Ryan and Travis up for the grand prize.

Travis V Priya

A game of “Travia” the night before got Priya reeling and Travis laughing at her discomfort. The game’s rule was simple: Travis was always right. Priya felt she was being singled out by Travis, who kept throwing unfavourable questions which have Priya as the answers. Priya’s temper was set off by a buzzer, which Travis might or might have not deliberately ignored.

They attempted to talk it out the next day at the laundry room, but the two hard-headed opponents clashed even more. As host Sonia Kruger called it, it’s the best argument ever that has happened in the house, with both parties refusing to back down.

However, after the dogs Ned and Kelly’s “snap eviction” a few hours later, the two tried to make up again. This time, they were successful. Not many words were necessary, just a kiss and a hug.

Nominating to Win

As perhaps to see what’s going on inside the housemates’ heads, Big Brother called them one by one in the diary room to ask them whom they wanted to nominate, not to evict, but to win. Like normal nominations, they couldn’t nominate themselves, and they had five points each to distribute to two people.

Travis nominated Skye for 3 points, and Ryan for two. He said Skye is her best friend in the house, while Ryan was his original partner.

Penny gave her 3 points to Ryan for being a nice guy and not causing trouble, and her 2 points to Travis for also being nice. Skye gave Travis 3 points because she absolutely adores him, and gave Priya 2 points because she’s “very endearing.”

Ryan has had a bumpy road in the Big Brother house with Travis, but nevertheless, Travis deserved his 3 points because he has still been his support. His remaining 2 points went to Penny for her willingness to have fun.

Lina gave 3 points to Priya because the schoolteacher has been “honest” and “true to herself” throughout the game. Her 2 points went to Penny because although the dance instructor always avoided conflict, she still wanted to entertain.

Priya thought Skye was deserving of her 3 points for having fun throughout the show and for being a good example for others. Lina, her other BFF in the house, got her 2 points because she “says it like it is.”

The results saw Lina with 2 points, Penny with 4 points, Priya and Ryan with 5 each, Skye with 6, and Travis with 8 points.

Lina

The Chinese-born beauty was the first of the three names called for eviction. The first question thrown at her was about the girls and boys divide that she allegedly created. She insisted that it definitely existed, saying that the boys probably didn’t feel there was one because they weren’t affected by their own jokes that were at the expense of the girls.

She also talked about Ryan, who she said led the boys’ pack. As Lina described him, Ryan was the perfect leader because he didn’t enforce his will on the boys, he was quite diplomatic about it actually, but when he spoke, it was meant to be followed.

Penny

The quirky 31-year-old professional dancer was named the fifth placer in the show. After giving her time to compose herself, Sonia showed Penny the “weird but wonderful” things she did in the house. Sonia also showed clips of Penny and mostly of Priya persuading Skye about the newcomer. Unsurprisingly, Penny thought Priya had a lot of things to say about everyone.

She thought Ryan would win because he’s a nice guy, but doubted that the viewers had seen him as entertaining.

Unapologetically Priya

The first ever housemate of 2014 has failed to see the end. Priya became the third housemate evicted on Tuesday night, which unfortunately barred her from winning the grand prize on Wednesday.

Sonia noted how composed Priya was while walking down the catwalk to the stage. She even held gracefully her own name on the paper an excited fan handed out to her. Sonia got her to talk about how some of the housemates, particularly the evicted David, often dismissed her character as reflective of her profession as a schoolteacher. Priya found that demeaning because that’s not who she was all about, and that’s not how teaching works.

She did not deny being strategic, though. As she calls herself, she’s unapologetically Priya, and she’s been owning that since day one. It didn’t surprise her that her fellow housemates have seen through that, but what surprised her was that they didn’t learn that she had been stirring the pot sooner.

Priya shocked Sonia and the audience members when she gave her husband Bhushan, who came on stage to welcome her back to the real world, a long, passionate kiss.

As an original housemate, she received $5,000 voucher from Appliances Online. This reward wasn’t offered to the four intruders, Penny, Tom, Lina and Richard.

And so there are three...

With the three girls gone, Skye, Ryan and Travis were left in the house as the Final 3. One of them will be named the winner of “Big Brother Australia” 2014, and will receive the grand prize of $200,000.
