Children bestfriend and beloved mail carrier "Postman Pat" will head for the big screen on 2012.

Classic Media and RGH Entertainment announced that UK's favorite postman will head to the big screen and will be released on the spring of 2012.

In the 3D movie, our beloved mail carrier will encounter a very tempting offer after winning a national TV competition. However, the big change entails leaving his home in Greendale and all the townspeople he loved.

The movie is set to begin production this month. The movie project is on cue as the animated cartoon celebrates its 30th year.

Stephen Mangan will be the voice behind "Postman Pat". Other actors will provide voices are Jim Broadbent, Rupert Grint and David Tennant.

"Postman Pat" is a big hit in the UK and ranked as one of the top 10 toys for preschoolers.
