The Big Three Hope To Make Progress On Sunday
The Premier League will host two sets of full fixtures on Friday as well as Sunday. All twenty teams will have to undergo a lot of travelling in order to entertain the fans in holiday spirit. The top three teams will be on their guard so that they do not slip up and are caught napping having stuffed themselves with too much turkey.
Manchester United kick off the early match of Sunday away to Tottenham Hotspurs. Tottenham have had a very up and down season so far. They have already lost four matches at home and would struggle to finish high enough to qualify for Europe. Manchester United are in good form themselves and are starting to hit the high notes of Manchester United of old. Traditionally Manchester United have had successful trips to the White Hart Lane, expect the same to continue this time as well.
Chelsea will look to maintain the lead at the top of the table. They go away to face Southampton for the second match on Sunday. Southampton are having their best season ever at the Premier League. They have caught everyone by surprise and are still in the top five at Christmas. A potential banana skin for the league leaders but they have enough ammunition to get all three points at St Mary's.
Manchester City will entertain Burnley at home in another encounter. The champions are firing all cylinders and in Burnley they face a club in real danger of relegation. The match has just one kind of result written all over it. Not only have Burney conceded a lot of goals they are not very good at scoring them as well, a fact that will go down very well with the Etihad faithful.
In another important encounter West Ham host fellow London club Arsenal in a match that could have repercussions for all the clubs ambitious for a top four finish. In another match Newcastle United will take on Everton to continue to gather momentum for a top half finish at the end of the season.
