Bill Cosby Returned To Stage Amidst Never Ending Rape Allegations
Bill Cosby has not yet made any statement about the string of rape and sexual abuse allegations against him. The latest allegation came from Therese Serignese, 57, a registered nurse who is accusing the comedian of drugging and having sex with her in 1976.
Amidst the rape allegations, the comedian returned to stage for a charity show in Bahamas where he received a standing ovation after his 90-minute enthralling performance. In the opening part, the 77-year-old actor was seen holding his head and pretending to sob while joking that parents would not let their children near him.
''Bill Cosby you are an evil man!'' said the actor sarcastically before starting his standup act. The Daily Mail reported that the audience of the show did not seem to mind and laughingly applauded the jokes.
However, the rape allegations are definitely hampering the actor's career and public image. Netflix postponed the airing of his new comedy special, 'Bill Cosby 77', while NBC cancelled the comedy project they were developing with the 'Cosby Show' star.
As CNN claims, a new woman comes into picture raising another allegation every other day. These accusations have seriously damaged Cosby's jovial brand of family friendly comedy that entertained generations around the world. Although accusations of such nature have been surrounding Cosby for about a decade, the news was once again shoved into the spotlight when another comedian Hannibal Buress aimed at the star in one of his shows.
As per earlier reports, the incident was soon followed by the uproar in Twitter where the comedian had been disgraced for failing to disprove his guilt. When given a chance a couple of times to defend his innocence, the actor vehemently denied to make any statement or comment regarding the matter.
The seventh woman has raised similar allegations, in which she claimed that Cosby first drugged her using a sedated drink and then proceeded to establish sexual contact while she was still under the influence. She met Cosby in the hotel gift shop. The star reportedly eventually invited her to watch the show and gave her a front row seat. Ms. Serignese also declared that the ordeal went on for days and was freed only when she raised a false alarm of being pregnant.
New York Times reported that the woman never spoke publicly before due to fear of being humiliated. By late Thursday, two more women including Carla Ferrigno, the wife of Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno, had come forward with stories about Cosby's inappropriate sexual attempts towards them years ago.
