Bill Murray Gives Epic Marriage Advice After Crashing Stag Party [VIDEO]
Bill Murray crashed a stag party and gave an epic marriage advice to everyone except the groom-to-be. The “Caddyshack” star surprised a bachelor party in Charleston, South Carolina over the weekend.
One of the guests of the bachelor party said that they saw the 63-year-old actor “sitting with some people with a fishing vest on” during dinner at a steakhouse where the groom EJ was holding his bash.
“We talked to the waiter to see if we could send him some drinks, to which Bill declined. One of my buddies then went down and asked if he’d come up and say a few words for EJ and got a ‘No thanks,’” the guest told Deadspin.
“My buddy comes back up dejected and tells us it’s not going to happen. Two minutes later, Bill f****** Murray walks into the room and gives his speech.”
The speech was captured in a video, sent to Deadspin, in which Murray can be heard giving advice to the guests in the party, but leaving out the groom.
“You know how funerals are not for the dead, they’re for the living?” Murray asked the crowd. “Bachelor parties are not for the groom, they’re for the uncommitted.”
He then went on with dispensing his advice, saying, “If you have someone who you think is the one, don’t just sort of think in your mind, ‘okay, let’s make a date, let’s plan this and make a party and get married.’
“But a plane ticket for the two of you and travel all around the world and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And when you come back to JFK [airport, New York] and you’re still in love with that person, get married at the airport.”
Murray has been married twice, first with Margaret Kelly from 1981 to 1996, then to Jennifer Butler, from 1997 to 2008. Both ended in divorce.
