Billy Bragg Announces "Tooth & Nail" Australian Tour For Next Year [PHOTOS, VIDEO, TOUR DATES]

English Musician Billy Bragg has announced dates for the Australian tour next year. The artist is also slated to perform at the world music and dance event WOMADelaide. Bragg will perform on the closing night of the four day festival and will also be giving dates for other cities.

After playing solo in Sydney in September, Bragg is slated to be back in March 2014 for a full band tour. The dates will include his first ever show at the Sydney Opera House. The artist is currently promoting his 2013 album "Tooth & Nail."

Accompanying the musician on the "Tooth & Nail" tour, will be Melbourne singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett.

Bragg has been known to write songs that are politically motivated but the singer revealed that in reality he only writes songs on subjects that "piss him off."

"I am not really a political songwriter. I write songs about things that piss me off. Now that might be the government, might be me and my relationships, might be the weather, might be my footy team," Bragg said.

The singer confessed that he feels much better when he puts his opinion in a form of song and sings to the audience who likes them. He feels accomplished.

"But I write these songs to get them out. When I come out into the dark, and sing them to you, and you all applaud at the end, I feel so much better about it," he added.

The singer remembers his first time in Brisbane, Australia and calls the gigs "brilliant."

"When you go and play in places where the politics are perceived to be pretty reactionary, because not many left wing people go, all the lefties from miles around come out of the woodwork," Bragg, who is a well-known left wing activist said at a keynote address at BIGSOUND, on Wednesday.
