Singer Elton John advises Billy Joel to get serious with rehab
English singer, Elton John has advised his former touring partner to take rehabilitation programs and do it the hard way, reiterating to ‘do something better’ with his life.
The advice for his partner Elton John gave in an interview for the February-17 edition of Rolling Stone magazine, according to The Associated Press.
John told the magazine that he had cancelled many tours with Billy Joel, citing illnesses and ‘alcoholism’ suffered by his former touring partner.
The singer added that Joel must enter to a rehabilitation program that will not allow him to watch television but will make him mop and sweep the floors, reiterating that this kind of program had done him good when he undergone through it.
Joel, noted AP, has been going in and out of the rehabilitation programs for years. John’s partner spent one month in a rehabilitation center in California, where he was treated for alcohol abuse in 2005. But three years before that, Joel was in a facility in Connecticut in 2002.
Recognizing that Joel would despise him when he reads Rolling Stone interview, John emphasized Joel’s needs for ‘tough love’, said the AP.
