Bin Laden apologizes to his children in his last will
Osama bin Laden apologized to all his children for not being a good father to them in a will he wrote three months after the September 11 attack. He even warned his offspring not to join the Al-Qaeda group.
According to Kuwaiti newspaper, the four-page document stated none of his ownerships, but is filled with explanations on bin Laden’s holy war against United States and Israel.
The Daily Mail accounted that bin Laden’s will commands his wives not to marry and just concentrate on rearing his 24 children.
"Don't consider marrying again, and devote yourselves to your children and guide them to the right path," the will says.
Bin Laden cites an example in the Islamic texts as he encourages his children not to fight in Jihad. He quoted the passage where Omar bin al-Khattab who is the next Islamic leader after Prophet Mohammad, also wrote to his son, Abdulla, not to engage in holy war.
"You, my children, I apologize for giving you so little of my time because I responded to the need for Jihad," the will states.
Although there was no mention of any money, bin Laden is deemed to have inherited $27.6 million from his father who has a construction empire in Saudi Arabia.
Kuwaiti newspaper added that the will was dated December 14, 2001 with the "Your brother Abu Abdullah Osama Muhammad Bin Laden".
The Washington Post, on the other hand, reported that a version of the will was circulated among Arab groups in 2002, but al-Qaeda had claimed the document as counterfeit while the intelligence officials at that time were taking the will earnestly.
