BioWare ‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ crew profiles reveal Liam & Cora’s special abilities; EA quotes 3 million unit sales before FY 2017
“Mass Effect: Andromeda” official website has recently provided new insights into the two human members of the Pathfinder Team aboard Ark Hyperion. New crew profiles of Liam Kosta and Lieutenant Cora Harper have come up, and fans are excited.
They have learned that Kosta is a crisis response specialist with civilian tactical training. After he met former Alliance personnel, he became interested in the Andromeda Initiative. This happened at a “post-hostility relief action.” He was chosen to assist the Pathfinder team.
Kosta multi-disciplinary skills are a plus. An idealist at heart, he can easily take risks for the Initiative without thinking twice. Meanwhile, “Mass Effect: Andromeda’s” Harper has powerful biotic talents and she joined Systems Alliance to train her powers. She was transferred to an Asari commando unit post which she joined before the Andromeda Initiative. She is Alec Ryder's second-in-command. She lends her biotic strength and huntress tactics to the Pathfinder mission. Harper can bend rules if necessary, but more importantly, she knows the rules.
It has also been revealed that there won’t be any cross-play for “Mass Effect: Andromeda” though the PC version will have an uncapped frame rate, reports GameSpot. Electronic Arts (EA) is aiming high with the game and expects sales of three million units before FY 2017. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen is extremely optimistic about BioWare’s latest and believes sales during the fourth quarter closing days will make up 30 to 50 percent of lifetime sales. “Mass Effect 3” managed to sell six million units during its lifetime.
BioWare is also developing a brand new game, which will hit shelves in April 2018. It will be an action-adventure game that will change the way people look at action games. It may also disrupt the action game space with new concepts, new stories, new universe and new gameplay mechanics. Electronic Arts (EA) CEO Andrew Wilson opened up during an investor call though he made it a point not to divulge much on the new franchise as BioWare is focusing solely on “Mass Effect: Andromeda” release on March 21.
“This game has the potential to fundamentally disrupt the way people think about an action title, bringing friends together to play in an exhilarating new way. We're very excited about the future of this new franchise and its ability to attract a large, global audience,” Wilson explained during the investor call.
EA revealed that the new title will be genre-blending, a new concept many game studios are increasingly adopting. Stay tuned on IBT AU for more updates on “Mass Effect: Andromeda” and BioWare’s upcoming 2018 title.
