BitTorrent Users at Hollywood Studios, European Parliament, Vatican and Other Prominent Places Download Pirated Movies, Music and TV-Shows
Millions of people use BitTorrent to download pirated movies, TV-shows and music. The places from where the download happens include some of the most important locations for instance, Vatican. TorrentFreak reported that employees at the European Parliament love to download content from BitTorrent at work. Not only European Parliament, but pirates are also found in Hollywood Studios and U.S. House of Representatives.
The users of BitTorrent are aware that when you use the platform without a VPN, the entire world can see what you are downloading and your location.
TorrentFreak in association with ScanEye kept an eye on prominent locations from where illegal and pirated copies of latest movies, music and TV-shows were downloaded.
Several MEPs in the European Parliament proposed to decriminalize file-sharing for personal use. The website mentioned that pirated downloads of "Monsters Vs. Aliens," "Elysium," "Ten Commandments, "and hit TV-show "Breaking Bad," were seen in the European Parliament.
The hits in U.S. House of Representatives were much less compared to last year because of the implementation of a strict anti-P2P policy. "Sons of Anarchy" was one of the downloaded TV-shows that happened in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Let's have a look at what the folks at Vatican have been downloading lately. They downloaded software and video and audio entertainment.
The major music and movie studios, who had strongly opposed the download of pirated content, also downloaded movies from BitTorrent.
The list included "Mad Men," "Shame," and "Chico and Rita."
TorrentFreak mentioned that the data mentioned is just the tip of the iceberg, and they could list many more prominent locations, but at times the data extracted from BitTorrent can be spoofed. However, the spoofing rarely happens.
