Things are stirred up at the Johnson family household in this week's upcoming episode of "Black-ish." Andre's mother Ruby comes for a visit and clashes with his wife Rainbow. The episode is entitled "Oedipal Triangle" and it airs on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 right after ABC's hit comedy series "Modern Family."

Andre and his wife Rainbow have worked very hard to give their children a much better life than they had when they were growing up in poor and underprivileged households. They now enjoy upper-middle-class lifestyles in a society that's more tolerant and accepting with African-American and mixed race families but the show frequently tackles the differences between the generations.

Andre's father whom they affectionately call "Pops" lives with the family and is often the voice of reason in the household. He also provides a link to the past and old traditions that Andre wants to keep alive through his kids. While Pops and Rainbow get along fairly well under the same roof, the same could not be said about Andre's mom Ruby. According to the ABC Medianet preview of the episode, Ruby would very much like to smother Bow.

Ruby is the typical old school mom who loves to smother her pork chops with gravy. She also loves to smother her son Andre with lots love. However, she's got a different kind of smothering planned for Rainbow with whom she butts-heads. While Ruby is giving Andre lots of love, Rainbow is giving him lots of grief on account of her presence.

Andre is now faced with the challenge of getting the two most important women in his life to get along. Ruby and Bow have Andre torn between them in the middle to form their little "Oedipal Triangle" inside the house. This episode features guest stars Jenifer Lewis as Ruby, Andre's mom, Jeff Meacham as Josh, Andre's obnoxious officemate, Peter Maclenzie as Mr. Stevens, Andre's Boss and owner of the Advertising agency as well as Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy.
