Robert Downey Jr is said to be a crucial part in Marvel's Cinematic Universe especially when he debuted in the 2008 "Iron Man." Thus, his presence as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the coming Phase 3 movies, especially "Black Panther," would reportedly be needed as he will serve as mediator between Black Panther and other superhumans.

Cinemablend posted some very interesting theories on why Iron Man/Tony Stark's involvement in "Black Panther" is crucial. It reportedly starts with the pair meeting in "Captain America: Civil War" before T'Challa debuts in his solo movie.

"Captain America: Civil War" will reportedly put Black Panther in a position where superhumans like himself are forced to register with the world governments. Here he will find an unlikely ally in Captain Steve Rogers especially when they go against Tony Stark's Superhuman Registration Act. Black Panther's efforts to go against Tony Stark reportedly include helping out the anti-registration forces and building a safe haven in Wakanda for those who refuse to register. Ultimately, this decision would supposedly lead to his 2017 solo movie.

However, Tony Stark is not easily defeated. According to Cinemablend, he will make an effort to plead with T'Challa to change his mind about the registration. His presence in "Black Panther" would reportedly serve as a reminder that while "Black Panther is dealing with his own problems in Wakanda, the rest of the globe is dealing with the changing status quo among people with abilities."

As previously noted by the International Business Times, Tony Stark becomes the new leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. This great task will reportedly bring him to an alliance with T'Challa for the sake of the cause. Cinemablend supposed that blackmail would have to be the main course of action for Black Panther to register. The movie could reportedly show T'Challa asking Tony Stark's help in defeating his nemesis, Ulysses Klaw. Stark would concede as long as Black Panther and the rest of the superhumans under his care register to the cause.

Tony Stark's presence in "Black Panther" is reportedly crucial because of his passion on the Superhuman Registration Act. His new role supposedly involves making sure that superhumans are properly accounted for. Whether he is fighting as Iron Man or being the new leader of S.H.I.E.L.D., Cinemablend supposed his new duty as leader includes making sure all superhumans across the globe are well-supervised.
