The previous episode of “Black Sails” showed that Eleanor got to know about the plans Max and Rackham made to secure the gold on the Urca de Lima. Eleanor is worried that if the gold is brought back to Nassau; Spain will not agree to the Island being governed by pardoned pirates. She had said that the only way to ensure that the gold doesn’t return to the island is to make sure everyone with the knowledge of the ship’s location is killed.
The promo video of episode 9 shows Eleanor talking to Max on the subject. “I will be the end of piracy in this place and it begins tonight,” she says in the video. Meanwhile Rackham has his own set of problems with someone attacking him on his ship. He and his crew were preparing to set sail and acquire the Urca gold in the previous episode.
Captain Flint and Miranda Barlow will begin their negotiations with Peter Ashe in “Black Sails” Season 2 episode 9. Flint confesses to Peter that he is not without sin, but asks Peter not to judge him. The previous episode had revealed how angry Peter was after hearing the news about Flint murdering Alfred Hamilton.
John Silver will also have his share of problems when the ship he is on gets attacked by Charles Vane and his pirates. The previous episode had shown that Vane was not removed from his captaincy by his men. The pirate captain appeared to have won the trust of his men by the brutal murder of Eleanor’s father. He had also promised to return one day and settle all his accounts.
“Black Sails” Season 2 episode 9 may reveal the direction which Nassau will take. On the one hand there is the vision for the island put forth by Flint and Eleanor and on the other side is Charles Vane’s vision that seeks freedom. Meanwhile Rackham and Max plan to profit from the current situation.
