The preview video and a clip of “Black Sails” Season 2 episode 8 have been released by the producers. The trailer of "Black Sails" Season 2 introduces new pirates and gives viewers a glimpse of the things to expect in the upcoming season. The premiere episode will air on Jan. 24, 2015. Will Flint finally be able to get his hands on the treasure? [Spoiler Alert!]

A new pirate captain will be featured in "Black Sails" Season 2. The role of the ruthless pirate captain Ned Low will be played by Tadgh Murphy. Fans of the franchise can see the pirate with a scar on his right cheek and a discoloured right eye in the trailer. He is seen killing the unarmed captain of a surrendered ship in the trailer.

Dufresne and some of the other crew members may have a more important role in the upcoming season. The crimes committed by Flint were exposed by Dufresne in the previous season. He has risen from the role of an accountant to the quartermaster of the ship. Can he become a captain of a ship?

With the death of Gates and with two of the pirate ships brought down by the Spanish war ship, Flint has very little authority left. He is seen in the trailer saying he wants to become a captain of a ship again. The only reason the other crew members did not kill him in the previous season was because they found the Spanish treasure ship, the Urca.

It appears it may not be that easy for Flint to claim the treasures of the Urca in "Black Sails" Season 2. John Silver, played by Luke Arnold, is seen telling Flint he thinks the pirate captain wants to return to the island to claim the gold, which implies they may have left without the gold.

New alliances will be formed in "Black Sails" Season 2. Captain Charles Vane is seen making a deal with the new pirate Ned Low. Charles had taken control of the fort in the island and through that is able to control the island. Eleanor was not happy about the forced partnership and is waiting for a day when the fort gets retaken.

"Black Sails" Season 2 promises more action and drama. Anne Bonny is seen with Max naked on the bed, and Eleanor is seen confronting Flint. The trailer shows a ship burning at sea and lots of canons firing. Fans of the franchise are excited to see what the show has in store for them.
