The producers of "Black Sails" Season 2 have come up with a unique way to promote the show. Reportedly, $5,000 has been hidden in two cities for fans to find. The promotion campaign is being shared on Twitter with the hashtag #TAKEWHATSYOURS. This is the first of two events the producers have planned.

The producers of "Black Sails" Season 2 have hidden two chests filled with $5,000 each in two different cities. The first of the two cities has been revealed to be Los Angeles and the second is New York City.

The producers have shared the protagonist of "Black Sails," Captain Flint, "would lie, cheat and kill for $5000." But fans of the franchise only have to follow the official Twitter account of the TV series on Jan. 10 and get a chance to win in the treasure hunt.

The treasure hunt will begin with fans looking for a hidden chest. Upon locating the chest, fans will have to look for a key that will unlock the chest. The fan with the right key will be able to unlock the chest and gets to win the $5,000 within.

Fans who are unable to locate either treasures will get three more chances to win an additional $500 on the same day as the treasure hunt. Fans have been asked to brush up on the "Black Sails" to be able to compete in the second event, which is a trivia question sweepstakes.

The two events are open only to people who are 18 years or older and residents of the U.S. Of course, employees of Starz Entertainment and employees of other entities associated with the company, as well as their family members, have been barred from taking part in the events.

Meanwhile, prior to the treasure hunt, the cast of "Black Sails" Season 2 will be answering live questions from the fans about the show in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session on Jan. 8 between 4 and 5 p.m. PST. The first episode of the upcoming season is slated to air on Jan. 24.
