'Black Sails' Season 3: New alliances, new villains and a new brutal side of John Silver
The first full official trailer of “Black Sails” Season 3 has been released online. The pirates of Nassau will have to face a new villain from the British Empire and they also have to contend with a powerful new pirate.
The war against the British for the control of Nassau will begin in earnest in the next season. The trailer video of the TV series reveals that Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) plans to use fear as a weapon against his enemies. A new character called Woodes Rogers will be introduced in the next season. Rogers is the newly appointed governor of Nassau and he plans to “subdue” its pirates in order to control the island.
Rackham (Toby Schmitz), however, feels that a new Pirate Republic will be formed in Nassau. The pirate has managed to take the Spanish gold from the ship Urca De Lima and bring it to the island. Charles Vane (Zach McGowan) feels that there will be some form of retaliation by Spain after they find out that their gold has been stolen by pirates.
Another major character who will be introduced in “Black Sails” Season 3 is Blackbeard (Ray Stevenson). The character can be seen standing next to Vane on a ship and another scene shows the dreaded pirate fighting Flint. Meanwhile, Eleanor Guthrie (Hannah New) appears to be working for the British.
“Alliances are changing,” the trailer video teases. The next season promises more battles and intrigue. The video also shows John Silver (Luke Arnold) brutally killing a man.
The TV show has won a lot of praise by the fans. A previous video by Starz shows the cast members reading some of the messages the fans wrote on Twitter. All the messages complimented the cast members of the show and one of the fans even called Flint the “original gangster.” Stephens, however, struggled to make a gangster sign with his hands.
The premiere episode of “Black Sails” Season 3 is slated to air in January 2016. Some of the other cast members of the show are Jessica Parker Kennedy (Max), Clara Paget (Anne Bonny) and Tom Hopper (Billy Bones).
