'Black Sails' Season 3: Toby Stephens wants to name his ship 'The Enterprise'
“Black Sails” Season 3 will premiere in January 2016. The cast members were asked to name their pirate ship in a new video, to tease the show’s return. Toby Stephens (Captain Flint) wants his ship to be named “The Enterprise” and wants the ship to be manned by the cast of the original TV series.
A new video posted on the YouTube channel of Starz shows the cast members at the production set of Season 3. Clara Paget (Anne Bonny) said in the video that the name of her hypothetical pirate ship would be “Knuckles” because apparently “the boys” call her knuckles.
The video also features short scenes from the TV series as responses to the comments made by the cast members. A scene of Rackham (Toby Schmitz) saying “alright!” is seen right after Paget explains why her ship is named knuckles.
Hannah New (Eleanor Guthrie) isn’t satisfied with just one ship and wants a whole fleet. Zach McGowan (Captain Charles Vane) would rather take the crew of the pirate ship “Ranger” and use the same name for his new ship. Vane was the captain of a ship called “Ranger” in the “Black Sails” TV series.
Jessica Parker Kennedy (Max) wants to name her ship “Let them eat cake,” which may be a reference to a controversial statement that was supposedly made by French princess to starving citizens who didn’t even have bread. Kennedy wants an “unbelievable amount of incredible dresses from the 1700s” on her pirate ship.
Hakeem Kae-Kazim wants to call his pirate ship “Caesar” and wants Denzel Washington and U.S. President Barack Obama as crew members. Tom Hopper (Billy Bones) wants to name his ship “The Tiger” with his wife as the quartermaster, as she can keep him control. Schmitz wants to call his ship “The Podium” and the only crew member of the ship would be Grace Kelly.
The producers previously released a video to tease “Black Sails” Season 3. The video shows scenes being filmed for the next season and shows some of the main cast members. The video also teases the introduction of the new character Blackbeard (Ray Stevenson).
