Black Swan actress Natalie Portman and choreographer Benjamin Millepied are now engaged and expecting their first child. Portman's engagement to the Black Swan choreographer was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.

"I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience," the actress told the outlet, in a feature The Oscar Race is On.

This might just be the year for Portman with her performance in Darren Aronofsky's film consistently getting rave reviews from critics. Commercially, Black Swan is also the highest per-theater average grossing film for Fox Searchlight Pictures, at $80,212 per theater.

Now, Black Swan also gifted Portman the opportunity to meet her soon-to-be husband Millepied who served both as the choreographer and Portman's dancing partner during filming.

It is interesting to note that both Portman and Millipied are well into dancing. She plays a ballerina in the film,while he is a principal dancer for New York City Ballet. It will be n surprise if their first child will be donning the dancing shoes too.

For this award season, Portman is leading in the race for the best actress category. For her turn in Black Swan, she recently received a nomination from the Golden Globes which boosted her chances for an Oscar win after being nominated in 2005 for Closer.
