BlackBerry fans who have been waiting for the Q10, the BB10 OS phone with a physical keyboard, should mark their calendars, as BlackBerry rolls out the first wave in the UK on April 26.

The Q10 has a 1.5 GHz dual-core chip, 3.1 inch Super AMOLED HD touchscreen, 4G, NFC technology, an 8-megapixel back camera, 2GB of RAM, 2100 mAh batter, and 16GB of internal storage. It also sports the famed qwerty keys that the BlackBerry devices have been known for.

In the UK, the price tag for the Q10 is at £530 (around USD $800), reports TrustedReviews, which is surprisingly pricier than the Z10. This may come as a surprise and an unexpected blow for those who have been waiting for a cheaper keyboarded version.

However, a quote from BlackBerry spokesperson to TechRadar can be seen as a ray of hope: "We haven't confirmed any pricing or availability for the Q10 in the UK as yet,"

100,000 app milestone crossed

One of BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins' goal for the company before the US debut of the Z10 was to add 30,000 more apps from its original 70,000 back when the flagship phone debuted.

TechCrunch reports that this milestone has been officially crossed, as BlackBerry World clocks in 100,000 apps. However, one contestation that was brought up was the quality of apps that make up the magic number.

Aside from the fact that major apps are still missing from BlackBerry World-and have no plans of creating native apps in the near future-it seems that users should also expect less than quality apps in BB World.

Of course, it can't be denied that there are worthwhile apps in the market that see the effort that the company put to ensure the growth of the app world. For instance, some bigger names in the app industry such as New Amazon Kindle, Wall Street Journal, and Open Table are now part of BlackBerry's roster.

And BB10 users can also expect to see eBay, Viber, Skype, and Soundhog to join the crew not too long, reports Digital Trends.

The coming of the Q10 and the debut of the Z10 in the US may be the next events that could help BlackBerry cross the hurdle. With more demand should come more supply, and it's hopefully only a matter of time that BlackBerry World will grow not just in quantity but also in quality of what it has to offer.
