'The Blacklist' : Berlin Sends Red A Finger Of His Ex-Wife In Season 2, Episode 1 Lord Baltimore [RECAP]
The Season 2 of "The Blacklist" opens with Red in Douala, Cameroon. He seems to have received some punches. He is being taken in an open jeep to a local warlord, whose men are firing gun shots in the air and blowing up things just for fun. Red has a business proposition for the tin-pot dictator. He wants to know the name of the bounty hunter that Berlin has hired to target him. He is ready to pay 3 million for the information. It takes the landing of two hellish missiles for the war-lord to cough out the name of Lord Baltimore. Red burns the 3 million, not his money but FBI's, and walks out from there, with his hat.
Liz is living in a motel room. The ceiling is covered with pictures of evidence against Berlin and there is Tom, as well, on the ceiling. She gets ready and goes to meet Red. He has a lead for her, Lord Baltimore. This person is in the town and if they can find him, he may direct them in the direction of Berlin. Soon, it turns out that it is not as easy as it sounds and Red is not Berlin's target. And, Cooper is still recuperating and Agent Martin is heading the task force in his place.
Lord Baltimore, according to Aram, is some kind of urban legend in the field data of hacking and is a data-miner. The name of data tech Rowan Mills pops-up, as a huge amount was sent to her account and then that amount disappeared from her account soon. Rowan has no clue how the amount landed in her account. Lord Baltimore emerges as the suspect. A man called Marcus calls up Rowan and tells her not to speak to FBI. This man had met Berlin and was subjected to brutal, bathtub, ice-war treatment because of demanding more and not getting the job done soon.
Meanwhile, Red goes to meet Cooper and tells him to return to head the task-force, as Agent Martin is untrustworthy and incompetent. Cooper is planning to quit. Red has some information about Cooper, about what he did in Kuwait. He is ready to inter that information if Cooper returns to work.
Later, Red gets abducted by Mossad agents. They want him because of an operation of Red that left some Israeli agents dead. He has some good explanation for what had happened. His captivity, however, does not last long, as Agent Martin arrives and Red walk out from there like a free-man.
Aram figures out that Berlin's target is not Red. Rowan's twin sister story becomes part of the investigation. She had a twin sister Nora. Nora was the darker one as she was abused by her uncle when she was a little girl. She apparently died years ago in an accident. Agent Ressler discovers that Nora did not die but she returned to kill her sister Rowan. Lord Baltimore is no one else but Nora. She is suffering from dissociative identity disorder because of the guilt of killing her sister. Marcus comes to Nora's place and triggers her memory by playing a song. And, Lord Baltimore gets in action to take down her target.
The target of Lord Baltimore is not Red or Liz, but his ex-wife, Naomi Highland. Red asks Liz to send a task force team to her house, immediately. Red's ex-wife has been living in the witness protection program. Lord Baltimore/Nora kills some of the FBI men and some of Naomi's friends are killed, as well, by Berlin's men. Liz is unable to stop Berlin's men from taking Naomi away. Liz, however, does not let Nora get away.
Red receives a parcel. It has a cell-phone and a box. He calls up the number and hears Berlin speak. Berlin tells him that he is going to do the same thing that he did to his daughter and is going to send his ex-wife pieces by pieces, by pieces. The box contains a finger of Naomi.
Liz gets the good news about the annulment of her marriage to Tom. However, she keeps Keen as her last name. She returns to work, sporting a new haircut. Cooper, too, returns to head his task-force.
