Spoiler alert! This article contains “The Blacklist" spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.
Previously, Red grieved and contemplated about Liz’s death and losing his sense of purpose after he was prevented by Tom (Ryan Eggold) from going near their child. He was imagining a lot of things while he was in Cape Town, Jersey and in the end, left to look for someone.
“After an unexpected loss devastates the FBI task force, they must track down their assailants; a mysterious group whose agents operate using a worldwide satellite network. Meanwhile, Reddington is forced to confront a ghost from his past — one who knows many of Red’s secrets,” stated the episode synopsis.
In the next episode, Red and the task force will bid their final farewell to Liz and begin their hunt for the person responsible for her death. Their search will eventually lead them to a mysterious group that relies as a satellite system set up around the globe, referred to as the “Artax Network.”
The promo video featured Red working alongside the task force again. Cooper (Harry Lennix) will also contact Ryan and ask whether he wants to join them in searching for Liz’s assailant. The clip also showed scenes of Liz’s funeral with Red standing near her tombstone in a cemetery. The video also showed Susan “Scottie” Halstead (Famke Janssen), whom Red was very surprised to see. Scottie will most likely offer a different kind of threat to Red and the team. She may even be involved in Liz’s death.
CarterMatt notes that it appears like the show is still looking for a way to create a smooth storyline among the remaining cast members after Liz’s departure. The next episodes may pave the way for Liz’s eventual return.
In other “The Blacklist” news, Red will soon face a longtime enemy, Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), writes TVLine.
“The Blacklist” Season 3 Episode 20 will air on April 28 on NBC and on Channel 7 in Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
