New mum Blake Lively continued her “The Age of Adaline” press tour. The 27-year-old actress hit the red carpet at the New York City premier of the film at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square on April 19. The blonde beauty went classic and slayed the red carpet in a breath taking Monique Lhuillier gown, according to US Weekly. The actress got her mom Elaine and her brother Eric to the movie premier.

The blonde bombshell sizzled in a timeless, fiery red dress, complete with a bodice boasting both lace and leather. The dress had a lengthy feathered train which resembled a ruffled skirt. The “Green lantern” actress accessorised her ensemble with a pair of massive Lorraine Schwartz knotted diamond studs, a cocktail ring and a dazzling Judith Leiber Koi fish crystal clutch. Lively wore red strappy high heel sandals.

The new mom, who gave birth to her son James four months back, channelled Old Hollywood by styling her blonde locks into curls, parted deeply and pinned to one side. For make-up, the actress opted for shimmering eyeshadow, peach blush and crimson lips. “Workin Emoji Chic. It’s the new thing,” the “Gossip Girl” actress captioned an Instagram snapshot of her quirky clutch, hilariously comparing her look to classic salsa dancer emoji.

The others who attended the NYC premier of the film included Blake’s co-star Michiel Huisman and the director of the movie, Lee Toland Krieger. While Huisman was dressed in a khaki three-piece suit, Lee looked dapper in his navy blue suit, teamed with a bow tie. In the film, Lively plays a woman who does not age beyond 29 years, following a freak accident and is over 100 years-old. The actress, who has been featured in Allure magazine’s May issue, said that people are obsessed with beauty, youth and with looking and feeling young forever. She added that when a woman is granted that wish, she becomes trapped. The film depicts the journey of the woman trapped in her youth and how it is tragic to be young forever.

Lively had earlier told while promoting the film that after reading the script of “Adaline” she felt that there is still magic in films and it was there in her new movie in the form of humanity and a certain degree of quietness. The actress added that nowadays it was very difficult to find these elements in any film and hence, “The Age of Adaline” is a rare case. According to Blake these days only superhero films are made.
