BBC Radio One presenter Zane Lowe announced on Tuesday night on his show that Blink 182 are set to headline Leeds and Reading Festivals 2014. They will join Metronomy, Of Mice & Men, I am Legion, Jake Bugg, Disclosure and Wilkinson.

The U.S. punk rock trio will play the festivals for the fourth time, after their debut in 1999. The last time Blink 182 headlined was in 2010. The punk group will be debuting songs from their seventh studio record, "Prepare for the fur," revealed frontman Mark Hoppus in a statement. Also, these gigs will be Blink 182's only 2014 shows in the UK.

The news of Blink 182 headlining the festivals will please some of festival goers who predicted that Blink 182 will be the headliners.

"I think blink 182 are announced tonight for reading.. I'm 100% convinced. I hope I'm right.. Probably wrong? Surely," tweeted Tobias Burrows.

Ryan Uren tweeted, "Reading Festival announcement tomorrow. Probably first headliners. My thoughts are it's probably gonna be Blink 182. Would I pay 200 quid?"

"So it looks like it might be Blink 182 for Reading. They've got to pull it out of the bag with AM to save it at some point," tweeted Dan Jackson.

The line-up announcement was made after the tickets had gone on sale. The price of the ticket is £210.50. For the first time, attendees can reserve the ticket with a £50 deposit scheme while the rest can be paid in three monthly instalments.

Metal band Of Mice & Men will perform along with Mercury Prize-nominated songwriter-singer Jake Bugg. It will be Jake's main stage debut performance.

Biffy Clyro, Eminem and Green Day headlined Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2013. Also, the festival organisers will expand the capacity of Leeds site to 90,000 in 2014.
