'Bloodshot' staring Vin Diesel, Sam Heughan to film in Cape Town
The movie “Bloodshot” starring Vin Diesel and Sam Heughan will reportedly film in Cape Town. The production is expected to begin in August. The film is an adaptation of the stories of a character from Valliant Comics.
According to a report by OmegaUnderground, “Bloodshot” will begin filming on August 6. Most of the filming will take place in Cape Town, South Africa. The scenes will reportedly be shot in Cape Town Film Studios.
Heughan was previously in Cape Town to film scenes for his highly popular “Outlander” TV series. Scenes related to a ship voyage were filmed there for the third season of the TV series. The actor will have to head back there and a few other familiar locations for the upcoming movie.
The other filming locations of the movie are Prague and Budapest. Heughan has also filmed a few scenes in Prague for the “Outlander” TV series.
The character Bloodshot from the comics is one of the most popular characters from Valiant Comics. Since this is the first movie about the character, this is expected to be an origin story.
Bloodshot was a former soldier who died and was brought back to life using nanotech. The nanites in his blood give him superhuman powers. Some of the abilities of the character are the ability to regenerate quickly by consuming matter, the ability to alter the shape of his body, and the ability to communicate with machines.
In the comics, Bloodshot was created by a secret government organisation, which implanted false memories to manipulate and control him. The character lost his memories after he was brought back to life, but he will eventually break free from this government control.
Some of the other cast members of “Bloodshot” are Eiza González, Toby Kebbell, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson. The film will be directed by Dave Wilson.
