"Blue Bloods" starring Tom Selleck (Francis "Frank" Reagan) and Donnie Wahlberg (Daniel "Danny" Reagan) aired "Shoot The Messenger" (Season 5, episode 7) on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014. This episode focused mostly on Danny and his new boss, a drive-by shooting incident and an on-air interview with Frank. Read on for the "Blue Bloods" Season 5 recap of episode 7 "Shoot The Messenger" to find out what happened to Danny and company.

"Blue Bloods" Season 5, episode 7 "Shoot The Messenger" was written by Siobhan Byrne-O'Connor and directed by David M. Barrett. Here's what happened in "Shoot The Messenger." Frank's on-air interview didn't go so well because interim District Attorney Robert McCoy (Holt McCallany) blindsided him on national TV. They were supposed to talk about the city's safety and were on the same side, until McCoy revealed that he wasn't in favour of Frank's ways in protecting the city. This included ignoring the cases which involved minor drug charges. Frank also found out that Erin (Bridget Moynahan) is dating this guy.

As for Danny, he reluctantly rode with his new boss, Lt. Dee Ann Carver (LaTanya Richardson Jackson) and came across a drive-by shooting with lots of casualties, including a young mother. Thankfully, her baby survived the shooting spree. They later found out that a drug dealer named Ramos wanted the mom and the kid to be killed because he discovered that he wasn't the father of the child. In the end, Ramos was arrested because he was caught on tape ordering the murder of the young mother and her baby.

Meanwhile, Lt. Carver decided to adopt the baby, which somehow changed Danny's mind about her. Because of what she did, he chose to stay in the same precinct with her.
