CBS recently revealed new storylines for the upcoming season of “Blue Bloods,” and it’s nothing short of exciting. The hit drama series opens with an explosive car crash, and Jamie and Eddie immediately respond to the incident. Things get complicated when they discover that the person responsible was a drunk driver who’s a public figure.
Meanwhile, Frank faces a difficult decision when Grace Edwards, the wife of a slain police officer requests him not to accept her son in the police force. “Full House” actress Lori Loughlin signs up as a guest star to play the role of Grace. Elsewhere, Danny reels from a shocking development about a self-defense shooting case of Thomas Wilder. It seems a new piece of evidence has surfaced, and it pins down Danny.
Followers of “Blue Bloods” would remember that Thomas, played by “Boardwalk Empire” actor Louis Cancelmi, was a serial killer shot down by Danny in an encounter. This instalment followed two more episodes, before the show wrapped up its sixth season on May 6. The season finale, titled “Blowback,” dealt with a relevant and controversial issue: an officer embroiled in a case of shooting unarmed man. Frank and Erin, along with the mayor and the DA office found themselves on the receiving end of a public outrage after the erring policeman goes scot-free. There was an insinuation that Frank might be resigning from his post. As a result of the incident, he did file for resignation, but the mayor did not accept it.
