One more day and the newly-crowned Miss World Megan Young will be coming home, she is expected to arrive in Manila on Thursday, October10, said Miss World Philippines director Cory Quirino in a radio report.

To celebrate her vcitory, Young is set to do a victory motorcade which will be held on Ayala Avenue at 2PM in the business district of Makati City and will proceed to EDSA and end at the Mall of Asia for a meet and greet on Friday afternoon.

There will be a press conference at Solaire Resort & Casino followed by a victory dinner to celebrate her homecoming. On Sataurday, Oct. 11, Young will take a trip to Olongapo, her home town, where a grand homecoming celebration awaits her.

Young will also visit more than 900 kids at the Tuloy Foundation center in Alabang on Sunday, Oct. 13, and she is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Congress as brings a breath of fresh air in the on-going Pork Barell mess on Monday, Oct. 14.

Quirino asked the Miss World supporters to come in blue, the color of Miss World crown, where she will be welcomed with blue confetti raining down the street as she goes by. "The (Miss World) crown is patterned after the medieval crown (of England). It has a long history and is most coveted," she said.

When asked if she feel pressured to produce another title for next year's Miss World, Quirino says she's not pressured at all.

"I don't have anything to prove anymore. But it doesn't mean we won't send our best candidates next year. There are countries that won the Miss World for two consecutive years. And we hope to continue the winning streak."

"Megan won because of her garce and natural beauty," she continued. "She has no airs. She remained humble throughout the pageant even if she was leading in global surveys."

The 23-year-old beauty queen bested 128 candidates from all over the world and became the first Filipina to ever sit in the Miss World throne. The pageant was broadcast to more than 180 countries where she made all Filipinos proud with her wit, beauty and elegance.
