Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum said that Manny Pacquiao's challenge for Floyd Mayweather to fight for charity is an incredible statement for the sport of boxing, reported the Boxing Scene.

Arum said that although money is unquestionably an important matter, he thought that Pacquiao's charity challenge was something that can help promote boxing.

Pacquiao has laid emphasis on the fact that he wasn't really after the money in wanting to fight Mayweather. The eight-division Filipino world champion said that he was even more than willing to submit himself to any kind of drug testing, and what is more, to even fight Mayweather for the sake of charity.

It has been nearly a week after Pacquiao dared Mayweather to fight for charity, but the undefeated boxer has not commented on the challenge yet. It is still a big question mark if Mayweather would ever consider Pacquiao's suggested free fight. Mayweather is an intelligent businessman. He has made so much money from boxing that no athlete has probably ever made. He certainly got his moniker "Money" for good reason. It's widely known that he bets six up to seven figures in sporting events just to add more money to his fortune. We wonder if Mayweather would even entertain the idea of fighting Pacquiao without a prize money.

Meanwhile, a rematch between Bradley and Pacquiao has reportedly been set according to the Manila Bulletin. However, contrary to the news article published by the local Philippine newspaper, Arum said that the rematch between Pacquiao and Bradley has not been finalised yet.

"That's the one that we're working on now," Arum told Ring TV. "It may not be the one that takes place," he added. Arum explained that the negotiations are underway between Pacquiao and Bradley's respective camps. "But this process takes time and you can't just make it happen," said Arum. Nonetheless, Arum stated that there is a great chance that the Pacquiao-Bradley rematch happens because he wouldn't have bothered negotiation if he had known that it is not going to happen in the first place.

So the deal involving the rematch between Pacquiao and Bradley isn't official yet, but it is highly possible that the Filipino fighting champion will meet an old foe on his April 12 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. What do you think?
