Bon Jovi Stays Strong After Daughter's Overdose
The musician and actor is remaining steadfast after a family-related hurdle has to go through.
The singer, was devastated when his 19-year-old daughter, Stephanie Bongiovi, experimented with heroin in her college dorm and experienced an overdose. No heavy charges will be pressed against Stephanie, but she is set to seek official help to aid her in overcoming a life-threatening bout with narcotics.
Bongiovi was first charged with only a misdemeanor for marijuana and drug paraphernalia, but ultimately benefited from the NYC ruling that no charges will be pressed as long as the user is willing to seek help.
The rocker, who was recently involved in a fund-raising event for the victims of hurricane Sandy, is optimistic that he and his family will overcome the situation.
"This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good" says Bon Jovi to The Los Angeles Times.
Stephanie was arrested with 21-year-old Ian Grant, who is currently under observation by the police. According to those who rescued the singer's daughter, it was a relief that she survived. If Stephanie had taken another 8 ounces of the said drug, she would have not been so lucky.
