Bond 24 is likely to be based on the novel 'Devil May Care'. In 2008, Writer Sebastian Faulks wrote the novel to mark the 100th anniversary of British writer Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond 007.

Leading U.K. tabloid The Sun reported that the "follow-up to Skyfall will be Devil May Care." The novel continues the Bond series and is set in the year 1967 and is written as a sequel to 'The Man with the Golden Gun'. Megalomaniac chemist Dr Julius Gorner is the main antagonist in this novel. The evil character hates Britain, has plans for world domination, and is flooding the Queen's country with narcotics. The famous sky is dispatched to investigate him, which takes him to Paris and then Persia.

This latest new comes close on the heels of the announcement that Sam Mendes will return to helm the new Bond movie. "I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time," Mendes had said.

Journalism and wartime intelligence officer Fleming wrote 14 James Bond Book before his death in 1964. Quantum of Solace was the last Bond movie based on his novels and short stories. The 23rd Bond movie, Skyfall, directed by Mendes, was based on an original screenplay written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. Skyfall became an overwhelming success and is the highest-grossing Bond movie till date. It collected $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Neal and Robert quit the franchisee after penning five Bond movies, including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, Die Another Day and The World Is Not Enough.

John will be penning the new upcoming spy flick and is also slated to write Bond 25.

The new movie is scheduled to release on 23 October, 2014 in the U.K. and November 06, 2015 in the U.S.
