"Bones" Season 8 is going to explore the complicated depths of love and relationships, hints series creator Hart Hanson.

It is expected that the usual elements will be there - murder, investigation and science. In particular, the subject that Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel) hates the most - psychology -- will thread people and motivations each episode, as usual.

[Spoilers alert for those who have not seen the seventh season]

After last season's cliffhanger, fans have speculated on how Booth (David Boreanaz) is going to take Brennan's action. No one believed the two could just kiss and make up after that colossal mistake. Brennan made a gut-wrenching choice. Booth might find himself doing something stupid out of anger.

But Bones and Booth will get through all of it, eventually; that is the fans' general expectation. As to how, the show runners have it all planned out.

Bones and Love

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Hanson hints that Brennan will face the consequences of her running away. Booth is a loving and completely-involved father. It is a well-established truth in the series. Yet Brennan made a decision for their child without Booth. Not only did she leave him out, she took their child away from him. The two will answer some heavy personal questions next season.

"We're going to be exploring - mostly with Brennan and Booth's relationship but also the other relationships too - what keeps couples together? Is love enough?" Hanson notes.

"What external hurdles set you back and what internal hurdles set you back? The theme is going to be how do two people in love stay together in a world of murder and science."

Daddy to the rescue

"Bones" executive producer Stephan Nathan shares with TV Line a little bit about the season premiere.

Ryan O'Neal, who plays Brennan's father, will be on Episode 1 next season, Nathan says.

"[Brennan is] depending upon her father to give her the same life she hated. They've been hiding and running for three months," he says further. This hints that there will be a time jump from Season 7 finale.

It seems Poco's "Keep on Tryin'" would play in the fans' mind when the emotional reunion happens. (I got to find a way to get on home to you.)

Meanwhile, Examiner.com is looking forward to a "dark" show next season.

"Pelant is not gone either. He will be seen in the season premiere, and he will cause season eight to be very dark," Regina Avalos writes.

Bones spin-off in Australia

"The Finder," a Bones-spawned series, premiered on June 25 on TEN. But the network pulled the series this Friday. The series got only 354,000 viewers last week.

Geoff Stults plays the role of Walter Sherman, a man whose brain injury has enabled him to link connections between what would seem to be unrelated events, things or people.
