Boomer The Siberian Lynx Invades The Backstage Of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'
On Jan. 13, 2015, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" YouTube channel released a video entitled "Jeff the Animal Guy Teaches You about the Siberian Lynx" which features backstage footage of their recent episode, when animal expert Jeff Musial guested on the show.
In that episode of the late-night program, Musial brought with him three kinds of animals: a Siberian lynx named Boomer, Mexican white and red-kneed Tarantulas and a red kangaroo named Sydney that hailed from Australia. Boomer calmly sat atop Jimmy Fallon's table as the show went on, with the enthused Musial sharing his knowledge of the animal to Fallon and the audience. "I love my animals more than people sometimes," says the animal expert. It is also worth noting that perhaps the highlight of the episode was when Fallon hesitatingly allowed Musial to place the Tarantulas on him, resulting in the show's host to cringe in fear and screams from the audience.
This backstage footage shows Musial discussing facts about the Siberian lynx. He explains the importance of Boomer's ear tufts, as well as its ability to sense prey from 275 feet away. He also claims that the Siberian lynx can take down other animals that are three times its body size, and that the large cat's paws are specialised to help it move across the snow.
