Speaking ahead of their UEFA Champions League battle against Arsenal on Wednesday, Borussia Dortmund midfield ace Marco Reus believes that his current goalscoring condition may contribute to his side's objective of securing a victory against the Gunners.

"I´m in good form but so is the rest of the team! I try to give everything in every game to help the team. And currently this is working out just fine," Reus told bvb.de.

Dortmund is currently occupying the second spot in the Bundesliga table with 28 points, just a point behind rival Bayern Munich, and Reus associates BVB's success to being a disciplined squad.

"Because we work very hard, because we have a very strong team and because we follow the instructions of the coach - we know that we need to play some very good counter-pressing football to be successful," he revealed.

Die Schwarzgelben's has reaped the benefits of preparing the team during the offseason, especially in times when the team is facing tougher oppositions successively as well as resting key players as much as they can as the season progresses.

"We worked hard on our fitness in preseason to be prepared for these purposes," said Reus.

"But, of course, games that involve a lot of running as the ones against Stuttgart or Arsenal take a lot of energy from us."

"But we also have a good squad where anyone can replace anyone else and where it´s possible to get a rest, as in my case on Friday when I was able to come off half an hour earlier."

The German international player disclosed that his side will not settle for anything less than a victory against the Gunners, regardless of the quality that Arsenal has.

"We go into every game to win it. But of course it´s going to be very difficult. Arsenal are strong in every position. But they will not want to sit back which could give us some space, though we will not get as many chances as against Stuttgart."

Meanwhile, Reus has been heavily talked about over the past few days as Arsenal and Manchester United, among others, are on the move of securing the attacker's signature in January.
