'Boruto Naruto Next Generations' episode 3 predictions: Metal Lee goes head-to-head with Boruto
[Spoiler Alert] Boruto finally returns to the Ninja Academy after two weeks of suspension. Upon his arrival, the students start to gossip around him. After the confrontation with Iwabe, Boruto and his friends might also fight against Metal Lee, Rock Lee’s son. After all, it did say on the preview of “Boruto Naruto Next Generations” episode 3 that the episode's title will be “Metal Lee Goes Wild!”
Metal Lee had most likely inherited his father’s personality of being a hot-blooded and dedicated shinobi. Just like in the past, when Rock Lee challenged Sasuke Uchicha into battle, Metal might do the same in the episode. Only this time, instead of Sarada Uchiha, Sasuke’s daughter, he will be challenging Boruto.
In the teaser video, it seems like it would be up to Shikadai Nara, Shikamaru’s son, to stop Metal Lee from being wild. Just like his father, Shikadai specializes in shadow manipulation jutsu. It was manifested in the last scene of the teaser where he was holding Metal in place with the technique.
Metal seems to be an expert when it comes to taijutsu, which runs in his family. He also wears the same attire as his father, a green jumpsuit with an orange leg and neck warmers and bandages on his arms. However, he seems to have a hard time using ninjutsu or any ninja tools; his frustration can be seen in the teaser video.
Looking at the result of the previous episode when Boruto faced Iwabe, Boruto and friends will most likely beat Metal. Although Boruto only knows the Shadow Clone jutsu he inherited from his family, his skill is the second best in class. It is impressive if Metal is in the same class as his father, considering that the Lee Clan excels in physical aspects.
'Boruto Naruto Next Generations:' Eye jutsu still unexplained
Despite the series showing Boruto’s weird eye technique in the first episode, it appears they will not provide more details about it. The next several episodes might be the introduction of the next-generation shinobis and their capabilities. The show has yet to tackle other characters such as Sarada and Mitsuki, Orochimaru’s artificial son.
Like during the first season of “Naruto,” the three will be teammates in the Chunin exam. This was already revealed during “Boruto Naruto the Movie,” but producers can still choose not to follow the movie and lay out a different story line for “Boruto Naruto Next Generations.”
