Boston Man Changes Mind About Buying Apple Watch After Doberman Ate 3 Timepieces
Unlike many dogs that gnaw socks, shoes, slippers and other footwear when bored, five-year-old Mocha, a Doberman, has a different but expensive habit. Mocha opens the drawer of his owner, Jeff Courcelle of Boston, and gobbles its contents, including three wristwatches, jewellery and leather collection.
Biotech Wired reports that Courcelle rushed Mocha to the veterinarian when he found out about the “theft.” An x-ray of the dog’s tummy confirmed that like drug smugglers who ingest their illegal haul when about to be caught, the radiologist confirmed the presence of gears, springs and different pieces of metal inside Mocha’s stomach.
Like other medical emergencies, it was the timely rush to the animal clinic that saved Mocha’s life as well as the missing pieces. “Because we got her there so fast, very few pieces had moved into her digestive system. So that’s why they were able to get almost everything out in one procedure,” he said.
The dog owner believes the reason why his pet ingested his three watches was because she heard Courcelle tell his wife of his plan to buy an Apple Watch. With Mocha’s taste, Courcelle has aptly called the Doberman a “watch dog.”
Seriously, Courcelle and Mocha would have to wait for a longer time before the man places an Apple Watch on his wrist or the dog steals it from the drawer if he changes his mind. According to PCMag, the Cupertino-based tech giant delivered only 376,000 or 22 percent of the 1.7 million pre-ordered Apple Watch over the weekend.
PCMag’s analysis of shipping notifications that Apple sent to 2 million online buyers indicated 547,000 pieces would be delivered between Monday, April 27, and June 11. The reaming 38 percent of orders has no projected delivery dates yet.
