Chris Algieri has guaranteed that he will beat Manny Pacquiao in their bout on Nov. 22 and added that the Filipino can fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. after he defeats him at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort in Macau.

“After I beat Manny, he can fight Floyd. That’s fine with me,” Algieri, who is from Huntington, New York, said via New York Post. “Boxing has worked out for me that when I do what I’m supposed to do I get what I’m supposed to get.”

The Algieri vs. Pacquiao fight has been relatively nicer compared to other big boxing fights filled with trash talk between two opposing camps and even pre-fight skirmishes during press conferences and media days.

Algieri’s pronouncement might just have changed that and Manny Pacquiao took notice responding via social media Twitter:

If I needed extra motivation for my Nov 22 fight against @ChrisAlgieri, today's @NYPost_Willis story gave it to me. http://t.co/YfKu96pq9W

It’s still a relatively tamer “trash talk” between Algieri and Pacquiao— definitely kinder between Pacquiao’s and Mayweather’s back and forth on social media— but as the Filipino suggested it just might be the motivation he needs as both sides continue their training camp in preparation for the November fight. Algieri is currently in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States while Pacquiao is in General Santos City in the Philippines.

Algieri (20-0-0, 8 knockouts), who is also from the United States and undefeated in his boxing career like Mayweather Jr., is scheduled to travel to Macau roughly two weeks before the fight and has admitted in the same NY Post article that he’s already in fantastic shape and just waiting orders from his coaches to discuss the strategy in trying to pull off the upset against Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 knockouts).

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight has been hotly discussed yet again by boxing fans and analysts. The topic has been opened when Floyd Mayweather Sr., Floyd’s Jr’s father assured that the bout is guaranteed for 2015. There’s also HBO Sports and Showtime/CBS in apparent talks about the super fight between the two.

While the fans continue to hype the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao bout, Chris Algieri couldn’t care less about the probable 2015 super fight— rather, aiming for the huge upset in Macau against the Filipino pugilist is the undefeated American’s main focus.
